42 U.S.C. § 4026 - Expiration of program

Text

No new contract for flood insurance under this chapter shall be entered into after September 30, 2026.

Extension of ProgramPub. L. 119–4, div. A, title VII, § 1709, Mar. 15, 2025, 139 Stat. 29, provided that: “(a) Sections 1309(a) and 1319 of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 4016(a) and 4026) shall be applied by substituting the date specified in section 1106 of this Act [Sept. 30, 2025] for ‘September 30, 2023’. “(b)(1) Subject to paragraph (2), this section shall become effective immediately upon enactment of this Act [div. A of Pub. L. 119–4, approved Mar. 15, 2025]. “(2) If this Act is enacted after March 14, 2025, this section shall be applied as if it were in effect on March 14, 2025.” Prior provisions generally extending the authority of sections 1309(a) and 1319 of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 4016(a) and 4026) were contained in the following acts: Pub.
