42 U.S.C. § 1564 - Definitions

Text

As used in subchapters II to VII of this chapter the term “Federal Works Administrator” or “Administrator”, or “Federal Works Agency” shall, with respect to housing, be deemed to refer to the Housing and Home Finance Administrator or the Housing and Home Finance Agency, as the case may be. Such terms shall, with respect to public works and equipment therefor, be deemed to refer to the Federal Works Administrator or the Federal Works Agency, as the case may be.

Amendments1950—Act Apr. 20, 1950, substituted “Housing and Home Finance Administrator” and “Housing and Home Finance Agency” for “National Housing Administrator” and “National Housing Agency”, respectively.

Statutory Notes and Related Subsidiaries

Transfer of Functions Functions of Housing and Home Finance Agency transferred to Secretary of Housing and Urban Development by Pub. L. 89174, § 5(a), Sept. 9, 1965, 79 Stat. 669, which is classified to section 3534(a) of this title. Section 9(c) of such act, set out as a note under section 3531 of this title, provided that references to Housing and Home Finance Agency or to any agency or officer therein are to be deemed to mean Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and that Housing and Home Finance Agency has lapsed. Functions under sections 1531 to 1534 of this title transferred from Federal Works Administrator to Administrator of General Services by act June 30, 1949, ch. 288, title I, § 103(a), 63 Stat. 380, which was classified to section 753(a) of former Title 40, Public Buildings, Property, and Works, and subsequently transferred to Housing and Home Finance Administrator by Reorg. Plan No. 17 of 1950, § 1, eff. May 24, 1950, 15 F.R. 3177, 64 Stat. 1269, set out in the Appendix to Title 5, Government Organization and Employees.
