Bill Property taxation: disabled veterans' exemption: refunds: statute of limitations. Existing tax law provides, pursuant to an authorization of the California Constitution, for the exemption from property taxation of specified amounts of the assessed value of the home of a disabled veteran, or a veteran's unmarried surviving spouse in the case in which the veteran has, as a result of a service-connected disease or injury, died while on active duty in military service, contingent upon a claim being filed, as specified. California SB 1113 (20132014) — Property taxation: disabled veterans' exemption: refunds: statute of limitations.

Existing tax law provides, pursuant to an authorization of the California Constitution, for the exemption from property taxation of specified amounts of the assessed value of the home of a disabled veteran, or a veteran's unmarried surviving spouse in the case in which the veteran has, as a result of a service-connected disease or injury, died while on active duty in military service, contingent upon a claim being filed, as specified. Existing law requires property taxes to be refunded upon the filing of a claim within 4 years after making the payment sought to be refunded.
