Bill Airports: alternative customer facility charges. Existing law authorizes airports to require rental car companies to collect a customer facility charge or an alternative customer facility charge under specified circumstances for purposes that include financing, designing, and constructing airport vehicle rental facilities and common-use transportation systems. California AB 1286 (20172018) — Airports: alternative customer facility charges.

Existing law authorizes airports to require rental car companies to collect a customer facility charge or an alternative customer facility charge under specified circumstances for purposes that include financing, designing, and constructing airport vehicle rental facilities and common-use transportation systems. Existing law requires an airport to initiate the process for obtaining the authority to require or increase an alternative customer facility charge no later than January 1, 2018.
