Bill	Vacancy elections.	(1) Existing law establishes procedures for filling a vacancy in the representation of the state in the United States Senate. Pursuant to those procedures, the Governor may appoint and commission a qualified person to fill a vacancy until the vacancy is filled at the next general election or special election after the occurrence of the vacancy. California AB 1495 (20212022) — Vacancy elections.

(1) Existing law establishes procedures for filling a vacancy in the representation of the state in the United States Senate. Pursuant to those procedures, the Governor may appoint and commission a qualified person to fill a vacancy until the vacancy is filled at the next general election or special election after the occurrence of the vacancy.
