Existing law provides for the classification and appointment of superior court officers, deputies, assistants, and employees as are deemed necessary for the performance of the duties and the exercise of the powers conferred by law upon the superior court and its members. Existing law generally requires the superior court, as an employer, to provide employees with the use of a lactation room or other location for employees to express milk in private. California AB 1576 (20212022) — Superior court: lactation rooms.

Existing law provides for the classification and appointment of superior court officers, deputies, assistants, and employees as are deemed necessary for the performance of the duties and the exercise of the powers conferred by law upon the superior court and its members. Existing law generally requires the superior court, as an employer, to provide employees with the use of a lactation room or other location for employees to express milk in private. A lactation room or location is required to provide, among other things, a clean and safe place to sit.
