Bill VEH CD-SOS-TITLE TRANSFER Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State, upon receipt of an application for a new certificate of title, an application for a certificate of title by a transferee, an application for a certificate of title pursuant to a court order awarding ownership to the applicant, an application for a junking certificate, or an application for a salvage certificate, shall remove the current owner registration and license plate record on file associated with the vehicle's serial number before issuing a new certificate. Makes changes to provisions regarding: junk vehicle notification format; the types of records required to be kept by specified licensees under the Code; and the information required to be contained on a uniform invoice for essential parts. Illinois SB 1542 (102nd) — VEH CD-SOS-TITLE TRANSFER
