Bill TWP CD-SAME TOWNSHIP NAMES Amends the Township Code. Provides that if the Secretary of State finds that any 2 or more townships within a single county (currently, 2 or more townships within the entire State) are named alike, he or she shall so inform the clerk of the county and the county board of that county shall, at its next meeting, adopt for one of the townships a different name. Illinois SB 501 (102nd) — TWP CD-SAME TOWNSHIP NAMES

Amends the Township Code. Provides that if the Secretary of State finds that any 2 or more townships within a single county (currently, 2 or more townships within the entire State) are named alike, he or she shall so inform the clerk of the county and the county board of that county shall, at its next meeting, adopt for one of the townships a different name. Effective immediately.
