| Bill | FUNERAL DIRECTORS-INTERNS | Amends the Funeral Directors and Embalmers Licensing Code. Changes the term "funeral director and embalmer trainee" to "funeral director and embalmer intern" and makes conforming changes throughout the Code. Corrects references to the Federal Trade Commission Funeral Rule. Removes outdated provisions. Removes courses offered by the Illinois Selected Morticians Association, Inc., the National Foundation of Funeral Service, and the National Selected Morticians from and adds courses offered by Selected Independent Funeral Homes to the list of courses that shall be accepted toward satisfaction of continuing education requirements. Makes changes in provisions concerning reciprocity and disciplinary grounds. Makes regular inspections of funeral establishments by the Department and taking disciplinary actions against the licensee discretionary rather than mandatory. Provides that branch operations of main businesses having a preparation room and located in the State of Illinois are exempt from the requirement that each fixed place of practice or establishment maintain a preparation room.
