Bill NURSNG HOME-SEX ASSAULT-REVIEW Creates the Residential Health Care Facility Resident Sexual Assault and Death Review Team Act. Requires the Director of Public Health to appoint a residential health care facility resident sexual assault and death review team in each of the Department's administrative regions outside Cook County and at least one such team in Cook County. Provides that a team shall review every sexual assault of a nursing home resident and every death of a nursing home resident occurring in its region. Requires the teams to perform functions that include (i) evaluation of means by which the assault or death might have been prevented, (ii) promotion of continuing education for professionals involved in investigating, treating, and preventing nursing home resident abuse and neglect, and (iii) making recommendations to the Director of Public Health concerning prevention and investigation of nursing home resident assaults and deaths. Creates the Illinois Residential Health Care Facility Resident Sexual Assault and Death Review Teams Executive Council to oversee the review teams. Amends the Open Meetings Act to exempt meetings of the review teams and the Executive Council from the open meeting requirements of that Act. Amends the Freedom of Information Act to exempt records of the review teams and the Executive Council from the public access requirements of that Act. Illinois SB 1543 (93rd) — NURSNG HOME-SEX ASSAULT-REVIEW
