Creates the Military Base Support and Economic Development Committee within the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to make reports and act as a communications center for issues relating to military base closures in the State. Provides conditions for membership on the Committee. Sets forth a list of issues pertaining to base closures that the Committee shall advise the Department upon. Provides that the Committee, in cooperation with the Department, shall make an annual report to the Governor and General Assembly concerning the progress of military base retention and economic development efforts in areas of the State where a military base has closed or may close. Requires the Committee to serve as a central information clearinghouse for military base closing and retention activities. Illinois SB 1354 (94th) — MILITARY BASE CLOSURE COMTE
Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law. Creates the Military Base Support and Economic Development Committee within the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to make reports and act as a communications center for issues relating to military base closures in the State.
