Bill PRO BOXING-MARTIAL ARTS-MISC Amends the Professional Boxing Act to provide for the regulation of martial art and mixed martial art matches and exhibitions. Requires a promoter to submit to the Department, after making initial application to conduct an event and within 10 days of a scheduled event, proof of insurance for not less than $50,000 (instead of $10,000) for each contestant participating in a contest or exhibition. Illinois HB 1947 (95th) — PRO BOXING-MARTIAL ARTS-MISC

Amends the Professional Boxing Act to provide for the regulation of martial art and mixed martial art matches and exhibitions. Requires a promoter to submit to the Department, after making initial application to conduct an event and within 10 days of a scheduled event, proof of insurance for not less than $50,000 (instead of $10,000) for each contestant participating in a contest or exhibition. Makes other changes. Repeals a Section concerning ultimate fighting exhibitions.
