Bill VEH CD-STATE POLICE ESCORT FEE Amends the Department of State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois, the State Finance Act, and the Illinois Vehicle Code. Increases the fees to be paid when Illinois State Police escorts are required for the safety of the motoring public. Provides that, in determining the fees, the actual time of the movement shall be the time the police escort is required to pick up the movement to the time the movement is completed with a minimum time of 3 hours, any delays or breakdowns shall be considered part of the movement time, and any fraction of an hour shall be rounded up to the next whole hour. Removes the fee for special police escorts from the permit fee calculation. Provides that the money collected for special police escorts shall be deposited into the Over Dimensional Load Police Escort Fund, a new special fund in the State treasury that shall be used by the Department of State Police for its expenses in providing police escorts and commercial vehicle enforcement activities.
