Bill MUNI CODE-BIDS Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. In a Section pertaining to the letting of bids by certain municipalities, provides that any work or other public improvement, to be paid for in whole or in part by special assessment or special taxation, when the expense thereof will exceed $10,000 (instead of $500), shall be constructed by contract let to the lowest responsible bidder. Provides that work estimated to cost no more than $10,000 (instead of $500) shall be performed by the corporate authorities of the municipality under specified circumstances. Illinois HB 159 (96th) — MUNI CODE-BIDS

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. In a Section pertaining to the letting of bids by certain municipalities, provides that any work or other public improvement, to be paid for in whole or in part by special assessment or special taxation, when the expense thereof will exceed $10,000 (instead of $500), shall be constructed by contract let to the lowest responsible bidder.
