Provides that each health care facility shall maintain any advance directives proffered by the patient or other authorized person in the patient's records (instead of patient's records for the duration of the patient's stay). Provides that any surrogate shall have the authority to make decisions until removed by the patient who no longer lacks decision making capacity, appointment of a guardian of the person, or the patient's death. Illinois SB 2258 (96th) — HEALTHCARE SURROGATE-AUTH CONT
Amends the Health Care Surrogate Act. Provides that each health care facility shall maintain any advance directives proffered by the patient or other authorized person in the patient's records (instead of patient's records for the duration of the patient's stay).
