Bill MUNI CD-ANNEX-FIRE DISTRICTS Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that whenever an unincorporated parcel of land that is within the boundaries of a fire protection district is annexed into the corporate limits of a municipality with a municipal fire department, the municipal fire department and the fire protection district may negotiate an intergovernmental agreement to allow the fire protection district to have jurisdiction over the annexed parcel. If no agreement is adopted, then the automatic transfer of jurisdiction from the fire protection district to the municipality shall occur upon annexation. Illinois HB 1700 (97th) — MUNI CD-ANNEX-FIRE DISTRICTS

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that whenever an unincorporated parcel of land that is within the boundaries of a fire protection district is annexed into the corporate limits of a municipality with a municipal fire department, the municipal fire department and the fire protection district may negotiate an intergovernmental agreement to allow the fire protection district to have jurisdiction over the annexed parcel.
