Bill SCH CD-TRANSPORT CONTRACTS Amends the School Code. In the provision concerning the powers of a school board with regard to the awarding of contracts, deletes references to work and contracts with private carriers for transportation of pupils and pupils with special needs or disabilities. Deletes a prohibition against contracts for the transportation of pupils to and from school being extended on a year-to-year basis if a school board receives a timely request from another interested contractor that a contract be let by bid. Illinois HB 4029 (97th) — SCH CD-TRANSPORT CONTRACTS

Amends the School Code. In the provision concerning the powers of a school board with regard to the awarding of contracts, deletes references to work and contracts with private carriers for transportation of pupils and pupils with special needs or disabilities. Deletes a prohibition against contracts for the transportation of pupils to and from school being extended on a year-to-year basis if a school board receives a timely request from another interested contractor that a contract be let by bid. Effective immediately.
