Bill SCH CD-CONTRACTS-LOCAL BIDDER Amends the School Code. Exempts contracts awarded to a local contractor who is not the lowest responsible bidder, but who is a qualified bidder who has submitted a bid that does not exceed 2% over the lowest responsible bid received by the school board, from the requirement that a school board award all contracts for the purchase of supplies and materials or work involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000 to the lowest responsible bidder. Illinois HB 3232 (98th) — SCH CD-CONTRACTS-LOCAL BIDDER

Amends the School Code. Exempts contracts awarded to a local contractor who is not the lowest responsible bidder, but who is a qualified bidder who has submitted a bid that does not exceed 2% over the lowest responsible bid received by the school board, from the requirement that a school board award all contracts for the purchase of supplies and materials or work involving an expenditure in excess of $25,000 to the lowest responsible bidder. Effective immediately.
