Bill SOS-VETERAN ID AND LICENSE Amends the Illinois Identification Card Act and the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs shall advise the Secretary of State as to what other forms of proof of a person's status as a veteran are acceptable. Allows the issuance of an identification card or a driver's license with a veteran designation to a member of the armed forces, including a member of any reserve component or National Guard unit, regardless of whether he or she served on active duty. Illinois SB 2173 (99th) — SOS-VETERAN ID AND LICENSE

Amends the Illinois Identification Card Act and the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs shall advise the Secretary of State as to what other forms of proof of a person's status as a veteran are acceptable. Allows the issuance of an identification card or a driver's license with a veteran designation to a member of the armed forces, including a member of any reserve component or National Guard unit, regardless of whether he or she served on active duty. Makes conforming changes. Effective immediately.
