Existing law requires the Adjutant General of the Military Department to conduct a civilian youth opportunities program consisting of at least a 22-week residential program and a 12-month postresidential mentoring period, known as the "National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program." Existing law requires that the program serve at-risk teens in specified areas of the state.
