| Bill | CRIME VICTIMS-NGRI | Amends the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act. Provides that the office of the State's Attorney shall, upon the court entering a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity, inform the victim of the notification services available from the Department of Human Services, including the statewide telephone number. Provides that when the defendant has been committed to the Department of Human Services after being found not guilty by reason of insanity or other provision of the Unified Code of Corrections, the victim may request to be notified by the releasing authority of the defendant's furloughs, temporary release, or final discharge from State custody.
