Existing law provides for the licensing of traffic violator school owners, operators, and instructors by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Existing law sets forth requirements for traffic violator schools, including that the school procure and file with the department a bond of $15,000 for home study schools and $2,000 for classroom-based schools. Existing law prohibits an office or place of business of a traffic violator school from being within 500 feet of a court of law.
