# Colorado HB 17-1219 (2017A) — Extend Colorado Water Conservation Board Fallowing And Leasing Pilot Program

The Colorado water conservation board (board) administers a pilot program to demonstrate the practice of fallowing agricultural irrigation land and leasing the associated water rights for temporary municipal, agricultural, environmental, industrial, or recreational use. Under the current pilot program, the board, in consultation with the state engineer, may authorize up to 10 pilot projects, each of a duration up to 10 years.
