Amends the Child Passenger Protection Act to provide that a Section requiring every person under the age of 18 years to secure a child between 8 and 18 years old in a properly adjusted and fastened seat safety belt or an appropriate child restraint system also applies to each driver over the age of 18 years who was convicted certain traffic violations in the 6 months prior to the driver's 18th birthday (rather than within 6 months of the birthday), until 6 consecutive months have elapsed without an additional violation. Effective immediately."

# Illinois HB 3697 (96th) — SECRETARY OF STATE-VARIOUS

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a graduated license may not be issued, renewed, or continued to be used by a person who has been convicted of driving without a license in another state or has been convicted under the Use of Intoxicating Compounds Act. Provides that upon a second conviction of driving while the person's driving privileges were revoked or suspended and the revocation or suspension was for the offense of reckless homicide or a similar out-of-state offense, the Secretary of State shall immediately revoke that person's driving privileges for 5 years, and for a third or subsequent conviction of the same, the revocation is permanent.
