Provides that dentists shall be entitled to reasonable reimbursement for the costs of reproducing patient dental records. Provides that a dentist or dental hygienist who is a dental emergency responder acts within the bounds of his or her license when he or she provides care during a declared local, State, or national emergency. Makes other changes. Effective immediately."

# Illinois SB 279 (94th) — DENTAL PRACTICE-SUNSET-LICENSE

||

Amends the Regulatory Sunset Act. Extends the repeal of the Illinois Dental Practice Act to January 1, 2016. Amends the Illinois Dental Practice Act. Defines "titration" and "dental emergency responder". Prohibits the titration of orally administered sedative agents that exceeds the maximum recommended dose. Provides that a dentist shall not be required to maintain a general license in addition to a specialty license. Provides that restricted faculty licenses shall be valid for a period of 3 years, rather than 2 years. Provides that each license issued under the Act shall be valid for 3 years, rather than being set by rule of the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
